At night, the noise from downtown seems more accessible. Like the dark makes sound the dominant sense. Smell, too. The night air. Especially last night.

The Westminster Quarter tune and chimes from various church bells and City Hall cease at around 8pm or 9pm. I’ve yet to notice exactly when.
